Calories matter, and they matter a lot. But what you are eating, which we call macros (the amount of protein, fat, and carbohydrates consumed) matters too! This matters because your macros directly impact how you feel physically. Eating too many carbohydrates, particularly processed foods; can lead to dysregulated blood sugar, constant snacking, increased desire for sugar, belly bloat, digestion problems such as constipation, and roller-coaster energy levels.

Become a fat burner. When you shift to a low-carb or keto way of eating, you reduce your carbohydrate intake and replace it with healthy fats. This state is called ketosis. It’s when your body switches its fuel source from using carbs to using dietary fat you consume AND your stored body fat as fuel! Some benefits of being in ketosis include less desire for sugar, balanced blood sugar (no more energy crashes!), improved digestion, less belly bloat, and fat loss becomes easy, almost effortless! 

Being metabolically fit is important for improving body composition. A lot of women struggle with fat loss or loss of lean muscle mass due to metabolic adaptation. The metabolism adapts to things like chronic calorie restriction and the metabolism slows down. I teach my clients tools such as calorie cycling and reverse dieting so plateaus become a thing of the past! Body re-composition is both an art and a science, and I can help you optimize yours!

About Me

My name is Courtney, and I have been in the fitness and wellness space for 13 years, as a personal trainer and health coach. I have been living a ketogenic lifestyle for over 2 years now. In addition, I also follow a heavy weight lifting program and continue to increase my strength and muscle tone at age 42.

So, if anyone tells you that keto is just a fad diet, not sustainable, or you can’t workout or build muscle on keto, I am living proof that it’s just not true.
Living this lifestyle has completely changed my body and my health, and I am confident it can change yours too.

But to be honest, in the beginning, it wasn’t easy. I went through 15 years of struggling with yo-yo dieting, binge eating, out-of-control cravings, body image issues, overtraining, and disordered eating and exercise behaviors.
So, if you are going through any of these struggles, I am here to tell you that I’ve been there. And thanks to living this keto lifestyle, I’ve been able to get past all that.

These days my relationship with food, exercise, and myself is so much healthier. Living a ketogenic lifestyle has helped me immensely, both physically and mentally.
